Literature Text

I once met a man
Who’s belt fell undone
The second he stepped
In our world of fun

He looked lordly and fierce
But once his lips moved
I knew he was something
Grown in the groove.

I once met a man
Who came from down under,
Who’s mimics were foolish,
Who’s voice was like thunder,

Who’s hair was quite long
But like made out of  gold,
Who’s eyes were cold sapphires
Like the jewels of old.

I once met a man
Wrapped in warm covers
Who told me the tale
Of star-crossed lovers,

Of summer night dreams,
Witches and a king,
And of a young prince of Dannemark
Who died in the spring.

I once met a man
Who showed me a light.
He gave me a quill
And told me to write.

And as I kept thinking
He had to be a sorcerer
The words kept on flowing
On the clean piece of paper.

I once met a man
Who smiled at the day
The snow was shinning
In a timid little ray.

And he laughed with me
When I dared to say :
“ Would you be my prince ? ”
“ Nay !” he said. “ Nay. ”

“ I will not, little fool,
For I am all taken
By a jealous queen
Who can’t be mistaken.

And I know that the world
Full of lads, out there,
Would never forgive me
If I stole you away.”

Hence I stand by
His window in the summer
Hoping that maybe
We’ll cross paths of one another.

So I may once more
See his pallid blue eyes,
Smile at his smiles,
And no longer play spies.

I once met a man
Who gave me a key
To a wonderful world
Of infinity.

Now I dread in the parks
Where small children play
To see a blond head
Come up to me and say :

“ Do you know my daddy ?”
And chuckle behind
The bittersweet thought
That he should’ve been mine.
Off the top of my head, really.
Had stupid nostalgic childhood memories come back to me, had to do something with them.
Jesus, this is not half as good as he deserves !!!!!! I need my litterature teacher back ! Doc. F !!!! S.O.S. !!!!!
I'm amazed at my ability to manage to use such easy rimes with the conviction it'll turn out pretty in the end.........
